Super-humanly resilient, aggressive as a deathclaw, and setting their slavering, gore-fed canine monstrosities to hunt alongside them. Charging across the battlefield under a swathe of excited gunfire, a host of weapons aimed to dismember, blow-apart, partially cook, and otherwise tear their foes apart - being on the wrong end of a Super Mutant War-Tribe is a horror most only have to face once.
