Along Rome’s far borders are a number of defenses intended to safeguard the legions and the villages inhabiting these regions, referred to as Limes. Key to the security of these border regions are limes towers allowing soldiers to survey the surrounding area from an elevated position, where they can also fire on would-be hostile interlopers. These places have at times become focus points for skirmishes between Roman soldiers, Germanic warriors, and at times horrific Mythos creatures.
