Starfleet needs a new crew

Welcome to your new assignment, Captain. Your continuing mission, to explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no one has gone before…

Star Trek Adventures takes you to the Final Frontier of the Galaxy, where new discoveries await keen explorers of Starfleet. Your duties may take you to the edges of known space, or to Federation colonies in need, to the borders of neighbouring galactic powers or into the eye of interstellar phenomena. Your ship and your crew epitomise the best Starfleet and the United Federation of Planets has to offer, and you are needed more than ever.

A new threat looms from across the Gamma Quadrant, as it is confirmed by Commander Sisko and his crew that the Dominion, led by the Founders, represent a significant threat to the Alpha Quadrant. Tension is already high in the region of Bajor and Deep Space 9, as the Maquis continue to act against the Cardassian-Federation peace treaty, with Captain Janeway and the crew of the U.S.S. Voyager preparing for their mission in the Badlands. It is a volatile time for the Federation and new crews have never been in higher demand.

This special Collector’s Edition features the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701-D on its cover rendered by The Light Works, who provided the 3D model for the Star Trek: The Next Generation Remastered series making it the most accurate model available. Spot UV varnish highlights the 1701-D and windows on a matt laminate cover with three coloured reading ribbons for extra referencing power!

The Collector's edition comes with a folded map of the Alpha & Beta Quadrants.

    Thank you.

Loving it! Always a Star Trek fan and longtime ttrpg player. I have the crew of the U.S.S. Sally Ride to thank for introducing me to this game. Watching Eric and the crew have so much fun and feels exploring the Star Trek universe lit a fire in me to tell my own trek stories and gave me confidence that my regular DND and Shadowrun players (some skeptical some excited) would have loads of fun at the table. I particularly enjoy the change of pace away from just combat and killing things. Those things still exist in Trek and the system works well but are not necessarily the focus all the time, instead highlighting scientific discovery and peacemaking. I feel this has added both depth and breadth to my storytelling in all games and I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to you. Also the artwork is awe-inspiring and thank you so much for including the Sally Ride. Seeing her in the books gave me literal chills and heart-feels. This collectors edition book in particular is absolutely gorgeous and well made. The cover art is superb, map poster and bookmarks are both cool and useful. Wishing you clear skies, keep up the amazing!

    A great RPG!

I bought the core book the other day and have already read through it. The book itself is high quality (I got the collector edition) and I was really impressed with the depth of information available in the book. I am currently preparing a group for our first run through, I've never played this 2D20 system before, but from a glance at the rules as written, it looks fantastic! Simple and easy to use. I am looking forward to picking up more of the supplemental material, including the Beta Quadrant book, and I'm hopeful that the Gamma and Delta Quadrant books will be out soon!

Fun to read and easy to understand

It’s great for a lot of reason but the things I liked the most are that it is very fun to read, the introduction as well as the rules and it really makes you feel like you are part of the story yourself.
The Artwork is also beautiful and it’s fantastic for a beginner in pen and paper games, wich I am.

    Amazing Book, Sad Bookmarks

I love almost everything about the bool. The cover art is superb; the attention to detail and canon are fantastic. The only issue being that as soon as I opened it 2 of the 3 bookmark ribbons (which were beautiful) fell out. I now feel like I can't open it for fear of losing the last one.

Beautiful look, lots of content errors and sadly a letdown with characters in a great system

    Content: 3/5
    Art: 5/5
    Rules: 5/5
    Characters: 2/5
    Playability: 3/5
    Overall: 3/5

Firstly, the art of this book is excellent and really does evoke the Satr Trek setting. The style of the book evokes the Star Trek setting well and the fluff and ephemera is in keeping and style with the IP.
The 2d20 rules system is excellent and very flexible and manages to evoke action exceptionally well for the pulp Mutant Chronicles and Conan through to Star Trek. Sadly the actual character creation system does create characters who are all far too similar. There is little room for growth (perhaps evidenced by the fact that to actually improve you need to achieve a number of story milestones equal to 2+the number of times achieved before- events that happen once every 2/3 adventures for 1 character out of them all). There is little variation between characters as there are only 6 skills, and woe-betide the Conn Officer whose Conn skill will see very little real use outside of flying!
A glaring graphical problem in the section on combat means that rules about sensors are missed as the book was rushed to printers too soon and the Gamesmaster's section on Milestones and Reputation is a tautological repetition of that in the players' section.
Space Combat features a lot of strengths, though the difficulty of attacks fluctuates each time it is described in the rules- Energy is Diff 2, then 1, then 2 and Torpedoes vary the same way.

It is a real shame as this had so much potential that is missed.
