Description

The Tarot Cards for KULT: Divinity Lost consists of 68 cards, rich in symbolism and designed specifically for the KULT mythos.

The deck is used by the gamemaster to – through readings – create plots, antagonist, locations, and allies for when planning a campaign. It can also be used in-game when introducing new locations and characters in the heat of the moment.

The Tarot Deck is recommended for use with the scenario Taroticum in the book Taroticum and Other Tales.

In KULT: DIVINITY LOST, the world around us is a lie. Mankind is trapped in an Illusion. We do not see the great citadels of Metropolis towering over our highest skyscrapers. We do not hear the screams from the forgotten cellar where hidden stairs take us to Inferno. We do not smell the blood and burnt flesh from those sacrificed to long forgotten Gods. But some of us see glimpses from beyond the veil. We have this strange feeling that something is not right—the ramblings of a madman in the subway seems to carry a hidden message, and, when thinking about it, our reclusive neighbor doesn’t appear to be completely human when we pass in the hallway. By slowly discovering the truth about our prison, our captors, and our hidden pasts, we can finally awaken from our induced sleep and take control of our destiny.

KULT: DIVINITY LOST is a reboot of the highly acclaimed and infamous contemporary horror role-playing game “Kult”, originally released a quarter of a century ago, in 1991. This anniversary version of the game features a completely new rule-set, and the setting is updated to present day. Escape your nightmares, strike bargains with demons, and try to stay alive in a world full of pain, torture, and death.

Is it needed? No. Is it proper fun and nice for when you're creatively stuck? Yes!

If there is any complaint to be had about this product, it is that you need to go online to learn the rules for using the Tarot. Otherwise? It is absolutely wondrous to use when you're feeling either overwhelmed by the setting and its potential or you simply as a GM don't know what to do. It generates prompts of a sort, akin to writing prompts but without the writing: just something to get the creative juices flowing.

Very cool

These cards are the size of typical tarot cards, which is to say somewhat larger than playing cards, the 22 major arcana cards are illustrated brilliantly, and the minor arcana are more like number cards in a normal deck, suits have no royalty and go up to nine. The only reason that I don't give it 5 stars is that the cards aren't quite as heavy as normal tarot cards. Definitely a cool accessory.

Pretty decent tarot deck

Good quality product, the illustrations are decent (very different graphical styles from the KDL core rule book) and the cards are a little bigger than your regular card game. However, it doesn't come with any booklet whatsoever (Tarot decks usually come with "rules", you might need to buy Taroticum to make it worthwhile), and the suit's cards from 1 to 10 are only minimally illustrated (symbols going from one to ten), don't expected to have every single card illustrated, only the major arcanas are. The "vibe" from KDL is definitely present though. Worth the price.
