Ahhhh, you’re in the market for some new weaponry eh? No? More of a chem fiend? No matter. This blog will tell you exactly how you can grab yourself a bargain in Fallout: Wasteland Warfare.
How to Find Equipment in Fallout: Wasteland Warfare
Outside of starting with equipment, there are two ways to find new equipment - you can purchase it or you can find it whilst out in the Wasteland.
Purchase Your Equipment
If you are looking to go on a shopping trip, you’ll need to ensure the settlement with the trader has at least an accepting reputation with you. Otherwise, you’ll get turned away at the gate regardless of how deep your pockets are! Thankfully, you can always access the trader at your own settlement though.
Once you have found your way to the trader, it is a simple matter of handing over Caps for their wares. Common items like pipe pistols won’t cost much and will be plentiful, but certain mods and weapons may be harder to come by.
If you are on really good terms with a settlement, they may give you access to a special faction trader. This will be a set of items you may struggle to find elsewhere, such as powerful energy weapons from the Brotherhood of Steel or cheaper Chems from the Raiders.
It pays to get in the good books of your neighbors!
Scavenge For Your Equipment
If you are looking to save Caps or don’t have many in the first place, you can always take to scavenging. Part of setting up Encounters will see you place down search markers. These markers have all sorts of goodies in them including items that are near impossible to purchase from traders… Providing that you are lucky enough when searching for them, of course.
Your loot is generated by rolling on a series of tables with the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. dice. All of the regular Fallout classics like gnarly weapons and Chems are there, along with valuables.
Valuables are how we decided to represent all the junk you find and lug back to your settlement in the video game. As part of a Rest action, you can turn in any Valuables and (again, depending on how lucky you are) get a huge injection of Caps to splash on even more new stuff!
How Much Equipment Can You Have in Fallout: Wasteland Warfare?
It's a whole load of stuff right? Sure you can manage to carry all of it though? In this new edition, we have adapted overencumbrance from the Fallout video games in the form of a carry capacity.
Each model will have this as part of their profile and it is derived from their Strength statistic. The higher their Strength, the more gear that model will be able to lug around.
Certain items like pistols and Chems can be carried with no extra effort. Larger items like sledgehammers and miniguns will take up more space. This means that factions like Super Mutants will have a much easier time dragging their spoils back to the settlement to sell.
Struggling to take everything with you? Why not buy a pack brahmin to load up instead.
