The perfect mix for Minis and RPG

As someone who has always found that the combat rules need to be 'first' in any RPG I was well pleased to find that they had tacked an RPG element on to FWW as an upgrade: when the combat starts I prefer the hard reality of ranges and concrete placements of where each combatant is. If thats all you wont then FWW covers it, but if you want even more interactions beyond the battle ground then this has you covered with some new skills that would only feature in an RPG setting. Better, I have always been one to tell my own story in any imagined universe rather than replay screen classics- so making my own heroes is a must. It covers character creation based on one of 16 archetypes you modify with a simple but effective XP system for character development. It seems to blend seamlessly with the FWW rules with some additional complexity (should you desire it- as always FWW is about making it work for you). The only thing it was missing was a way to calculate points for use in FWW though I fully admit that would be a big ask as the points change as the meta changes (like the Wave 9 armor rethink for example) -though a rough point estimate can be achieved by simply tallying up SPECIALS and then looking for PERKS from FWW that get much the same result.

picked this up as a pre-curser to the 'irl' version i hope to pick up shortly as well

This is Huge, i wasn't expecting 140+ pages of content to read through.

While i haven't got to the end yet i like the layout of the book so far ( first few sections); as it lays out the different factions in the game as well as some back history.

i look forward to the time when i get around to making a go at it with my models and friends to make an evening of it.
