London 09 Feb - Modiphius Entertainment, creators of award-winning roleplaying games like Achtung! Cthulhu and acclaimed table top and board games like Thunderbirds the 50th Anniversary co-op board game, are pleased to announce a wealth of new artistic talent for its forthcoming Conan: Adventures in an Age Undreamed of roleplaying game.
First up, pondering what is best in life is legendary 2000AD artist Simon Bisley, who produced the amazing artwork on classic amazing series like Slaine, Lobo, Batman and Heavy Metal. Bisley also has plenty of experience bringing the iron thewed Cimmerian to life in works like Conan the Savage and Conan the Avenger and was also incidentally, the inspiration for Spaced's Tim Bisley.
Crushing his enemies is Val Mayerik another comic book legend who has worked extensively for Marvel on titles Conan the Barbarian and the Savage Sword of Conan and is also the co-creator of Howard the Duck!
As well as working on fantasy titles like Brak the Barbarian, Throngor, The Living Mummy, Man-Thing and Eeerie, Mayerik has also drawn extensively in gaming, illustrating for a number of major gaming companies like TSR and Wizards of the Coast on titles like Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering and Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay.
Seeing them driven before him is Daren Bader who has worked in both gaming and video game fields on titles like Magic The Gathering, World of Warcraft and Tribes of Kai. He had drawn covers for the Pathfinder RPG and video game fans will know him as Art Director for Rockstar San Diego on Red Dead Redemption.
Completing this fantastic art team and hearing the lamentations of the women is Liam Sharp, a former contributor for 2000AD where he drew Judge Dredd, Finn and Tharg's Future Shocks. He has worked on X-Men, Hulk and Spider-Man for Marvel Comics, Superman and Batman for DC Comics and Spawn: The Dark Ages for Todd McFarlane. Sharp has also illustrated Fran Frazetta's Death Dealer, Red Sonja: One More Day and is also publisher of the award-winning Mam Tor: Event Horizon.
With these four titans of illustration joining an acclaimed team which includes cover artist Brom, a writing team headed by Jason Durall, and guided by award-winning Robert E. Howard scholar and essayist Jeff Shanks, (Conan Meets the Academy), it completes one of the most formidable line-ups in RPG gaming, a company worthy of the great Cimmerian himself.
Chris Birch, publishing director at Modiphius said: "It's humbling to see so many legendary artists sign up to be involved. Conan has been a life long work for some, for others the highlight of their careers and so I'm delighted to welcome Simon, Val and Liam to illustrate Conan: Adventures in an age Undreamed of. It's no exaggeration to say I think we've assembled the best in the business to bring Conan's spectacular and savage world to life. With a team like this, and the quality of the work they're producing, I think we scan safely say this will be the most authentic Conan roleplaying experience yet.”
