Hello, Commander.
R&D has made a breakthrough! Due to the huge amount of support for the XCOM: The Miniatures Game project, we can confirm that we will also be producing the sets in HIPS hard plastic! You will be able to choose from resin production miniatures (made in the same factory as our Fallout and Mass Effect miniatures), or HIPS sets for the pre-order. Only HIPS sets will be available in retail.
We’d love to know what you think in this quick poll!
What Aliens Will You Face In XCOM: The Miniatures Game?
The alien menace arrayed against you in XCOM: The Miniatures Game is technologically superior and overwhelmingly powerful. You will need to use your tactical prowess to get ahead in the fight.
The corebook features a total of 18 enemies to fight, from common foot soldiers like the Sectoid to the sneaky Thin Men and the fearsome Sectopod, bristling with firepower. As you go through the months of the campaign, the enemies encountered will increase in threat level. You will have to keep up your weapons research to match their increasing capabilities. Sending rookies with basic assault rifles against Cyberdiscs is likely to end in disaster!
Today, let's take a quick look at two enemies you might be facing!

Who Are The Thin Men?
The first is the sinister Thin Men: Infiltrators resembling a tall humanoid in a black suit. Precise shots armed with a light plasma rifle, the Thin Men can fire with frightening accuracy in a pitched battle, but their real strength is in their special abilities.
Thin Men are capable of great leaps, quickly moving to high ground and locking down the battlefield on Overwatch. As a tactician, you must try to contain Thin Men foes by keeping eyes on them and engaging them in combat. This forces them to remain grounded, lest you start to get penned in by alien Overwatch.
Of course, being able to see the Thin Man also means you may be on the receiving end of their vile Poison Spit ability! Poisoned troopers struggle to overcome the effects and are limited to either moving OR firing when they activate next. To make things worse, a dead Thin Man erupts in poison as well, so keep your distance!
What Is A Muton?
As the enemy invasion intensifies, the fearsome Mutons show up. These shock troops are tough, well-armoured and pack considerable firepower, including the ability to blast you to pieces with devastating alien grenades!
If that was not enough, they are occasionally accompanied by Muton Elites, carting a devastating Heavy Plasma Gun into battle. 2 shots per attack with bonuses to hit and to overcome Toughness, it will burn through targets mercilessly. Of course, once you get your hands on one of these babies, the Mutons may regret ever setting foot on Earth!
