As of 2371, the Federation knew just a little bit about the Delta Quadrant, having sent a variety of probes and missions in that direction. It wasn’t until the Caretaker whisked the U.S.S. Voyager and her crew some 70,000 light years away that the Federation and many of the citizens of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants learned more about the enormous variety of species and civilizations present in the Delta Quadrant.
Star Trek Adventures first edition explored the Delta Quadrant and Voyager’s exploits in The Delta Quadrant Sourcebook, a 2020 release that completed the four-book set of quadrant supplements.

If you missed picking up The Delta Quadrant Sourcebook, let’s briefly review its contents. Following the book’s Introduction, Chapter 2 covers many of the civilizations and worlds contained within the Delta Quadrant, with a particular focus on the Borg Collective. Chapter 3 provides player character species material for several Delta Quadrant species, including the Ankari, Jye, Liberated Borg, Lokirrim, Mari, Monean, Ocampa, Pendari, Sikarian, Talaxian, Turei, Silverbloods, Kobali, and Zahl. Some of these species (Liberated Borg, Ocampa, and Talaxian) are given full second edition treatment in the Species Sourcebook.
Chapter 4 provides information and statistics on a range of Delta Quadrant vessels, including representative ships from the Borg, Talaxians, Kazon, Hirogen, Krenim, Lokirrim, Species 8472, the Vidiians, and the Voth. Chapter 5 provides a wealth of plot hooks, story seeds, and NPC statistics for a range of Delta Quadrant characters and aliens. The chapter contains a sidebar of advice on running a Delta Quadrant-themed campaign, as well as extensive advice on how a crew might attempt to defeat the Collective.
Also worth noting are the maps on the front and back endpapers depicting Voyager’s path through the Delta Quadrant. Perhaps your crew will follow their warp trails!
Now, with the release of the game’s second edition, we’re taking the opportunity to update Star Trek Adventures first edition material we weren’t able to include in the second edition core rulebook or supplements. Nathan Dowdell, the 2d20 Systems Developer, revised the game components of this sourcebook that did not make it into a second edition supplement and compiled that information into a document. We now provide that document, for free!
I hope this updated information proves useful to you and your crew and helps enhance your Star Trek Adventures missions and campaigns. What material from The Delta Quadrant Sourcebook do you plan to use in your games? What ideas or suggestions do you have for your fellow players and gamemasters? Share your insights with your fellow fans at the official Modiphius Discord!
And if you haven’t bought the book yet, the digital edition remains available for sale. The second edition revision document will be added to the download package for the book as well as the Star Trek Adventures download page. If you’ve bought it, you should receive the free download right away. If not, reach out to support@modiphius.com and they will help you out.
With the conversion documents for the four quadrant books now complete and released, we’ll next turn our attention to other Star Trek Adventures first edition supplements and character packs. We have additional conversion documents planned for release through the remainder of 2026, so keep your comms channel open and watch out for those Borg.
