Fallout Friday April 24

This here is Raider Radio. Don't forget, if you've got something you want everyone to hear, you're probably wrong and whatever it is sucks. But if you insist, drop us a note, and we'll read it on-air. Another month has come and gone, let’s get down to business with the news in April’s Fallout Friday!

First, a word from our brand manager, Samantha…

Release Schedule Update

I’m afraid I have to open this Fallout Friday blog with some unfortunate news regarding our upcoming release schedule. As many of you are aware, global shipping is facing significant disruptions due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, and this has caused unavoidable delays to the Fallout line.

We have had to move the release date for the Battle for Boston starter set to the end of July to account for the additional shipping time. Delays will also affect the plastic miniature sets and their corresponding dice sets on preorder. The new dates are expected to be:

  • Institute: Core Box (Plastic) expected end of July
  • Super Mutants Core Box (Plastic) expected end of July
  • Railroad: Core Box (Plastic) expected mid-August
  • Minutemen: Core Box (Plastic) expected mid-August

As a direct effect of the delay to Battle for Boston and the Fallout: Miniatures, we have also had to make the difficult decision to push back the pre-orders and release for the new edition of Fallout: Wasteland Warfare, too. Pre-orders for Into the Wasteland will move from May to Q3, with both it and the Warbands starter set shipping in Q4. By launching the two starter sets together in the Q3 pre-order window, we can ensure everything is ready to ship to you.

We really appreciate your understanding. No one is more disappointed in this situation than we are, and we are committed to getting these games to you as soon as possible. The team has made incredible progress on Fallout: Wasteland Warfare’s core rulebook, the core reference, and the Into the Wasteland expansion book, which are all looking fantastic. We can’t wait to show you all the hard work that’s been poured into the new edition, but as it stands, we’ve still got a little way to go.

Leading up to the new pre-order date, we’ll still be showing off bits of the new game in blogs, videos, and streams, so make sure you’re following us on YouTube, Twitch, are subscribed to our newsletter, and if you want to chat with your fellow wasteland warlords, join our discord!

Fallout: Factions - Errata, Downloads, And Apps!

As part of our continued review process we will be releasing the latest Fallout: Factions errata and an updated C.O.M.P. document next Friday (May 1st). Keep an eye out for the accompanying blog breaking down the changes, especially to those pesky Combat Rifles!

As some of you have already spotted, we gave the Fallout: Factions Downloads Page a bit of a spring clean. You can now get easy access to the app, form fillable crew rosters, reference sheets, and build guides!

Speaking of apps, the Official Fallout Miniatures App has recently be updated with a full suite of changes for Fallout: Factions. All crew folio and core rulebook crews and rules are now available to subscribers. In addition, we’ve made a suite of quality of life improvements to make the app as useful as possible when playing your games of Fallout: Factions!

Fallout: Factions’ New–And Returning–Miniatures

Bottle and Cappy, All Fizzed Up

“Don't worry, Bottle! Nuka-World on Tour may come and go, but Nuka-World will last forever!”

Nuka-World’s troublesome mascot duo are out and causing a ruckus! We managed to catch them both for a quick interview before they ran off to mess up another plan the Operators were trying to execute.

Bottle: What is the best way to use our model in Fallout: Factions, Cappy?

Cappy: Good question, Bottle. We are really good at range with our nasty Splattercannon, so stand back and let it rip! Keep us away from fisticuffs. Our Bladed Commie Whacker is only good for taking out the Reds.

Bottle: We are also pretty tricksy. The Hidden Perk lets us pop up where the enemy least expects it!

Cappy: That's right! Nuka-World safety regulations mean that we can take more Harm than anyone else, too. But be careful - otherwise, Bottle here might start leaking your favorite all-American beverage!

Bottle and Cappy, All Fizzed Up are available now!

Redeye

“I ain't gonna lie to you all - love hurts. It really does. I mean... that's what my friend said. When he told me the story, I went and wrote a song about it. Whatever.”

Surfing the radio waves in Nuka-World is our dear DJ and host, Redeye! Strumming tunes on his guitar, the Real Deal, and telling us all the happenings in our favourite theme park. He’s the main man (at least, according to himself).

So, how does he play in Fallout: Factions? His gift for songs and stories shines through with his Recruiter perk, allowing you to bolster the ranks of your crew more easily. Providing he isn’t incapacitated during a game, the crew that hired him can make the Recruit Story Action for free during the next Story Phase–rock on!

He’s not just a pretty voice either; the Real Deal lets him tear his enemies down to size, making him a powerful melee attacker you don’t want to end up in close quarters with.

Redeye is taking his show on the road, just don’t forget his roadies tagging alongside!

Redeye is available for preorder now!

Hammer, Lvl 50

“Fist, this is Hammer. I got a human to make the machine work.”

Like most Super Mutants, Hammer is…well…Hammer. Named after the fearsome melee weapon he wields, this tough ol’ Super Mutant has taken West Everett Estates and now has even bigger plans. Just watch out for that missile launcher he’s packing on his back!

We can’t say much about Hammer in Fallout: Factions just yet; you’ll just have to wait for his rules to be released. But we’ll be sharing more info later this year when the Legends of the Wasteland releases.

Hammer, Lvl 50 is available for preorder now!

Fallout: The Roleplaying Game - New Vegas Setting Guide

They say that money is the root of all evil, so why not wash it away on the Strip?

The NCR, Brotherhood of Steel, and Caesar’s Legion have all fought to gain control of this region. Its saving grace is Robert House’s peace-brokering efforts, which have maintained order. But peace is hard to maintain, and power is a hunger not easily sated.

The setting guide contains:

  • Descriptions, quest hooks, and loot for over 25 iconic locations in the Mojave.
  • Two new character options in Courier and Three Families; eight new traits, and seven new perks.
  • Abridged version of the gambling rules originally found in Royal Flush.
  • 30 new weapons, including Zap Gloves and Multiplas Rifles.
  • 11 new clothing and armour options–yes, the iconic NCR Ranger Riot Armour is in!
  • Section on denizens of the Mojave, fully fleshed out stat-blocks, and special rules for the stars and icons of New Vegas.
  • Rules and stats for companions, creatures, the NCR, and Caesar’s Legion.

"Who wants some good news? You? Is it you? Because I got some!"

Now for my favourite part of our monthly get-together–showcasing all of your beautiful work! We’ve been taken aback at the talent on display Here are some of our favourites from this month!

January 22nd 2077, The First Domestic Use of Power Armor

Terrorfels, from the Nuka Cast Podcast, has this T-51 Power Armor ready for deployment!

Veterans of the Sino-American war in Alaska donned the first units of T-51 Power Armor in 2077. Rusted but not quite down for the count, this set is still taking names on the surface over 200 years later. We love this improvisation on the armor, especially using a Super Sledge as the weapon of choice! The colour scheme looks brilliant, especially the rusting to really show the age of this unit.

“Eyes to the skies! Sierra Bravo! Sierra Bravo! By steel, that’s a big one!”

Levi’s West Virginian terror of the skies is looking very rad here!

Flying above the skies as the apex predator in Fallout: 76, the Scorchbeast Queen is no pushover. The details Devon achieved on this are nothing short of exemplary. We loved the radiation on the veins in its wings.

"I've had a rough week. Practically every person I've met out here has tried to kill me!"

Naia’s Lucy MacLean is Okey-Dokey and ready to save her father! Just don’t use her as Gulper bait…

We absolutely adore Naia’s Lucy MacLean–Vault-Tec’s signature colours looking bright and beautiful. The determination isn’t lost on her either! With a 10mm in hand, she’s ready to save her father from Moldaver and return to her vault-sweet-vault after a treacherous journey on the surface.

"Which do you like better? The psionic beam or the laser?”

Stygian_Vault’s Robobrain’s look almost as good as The Boss!

We adored seeing these amazing Robobrains. The varying degrees of age between them are a wonderful contrast. We just hope their biomedical gel doesn’t need replacing anytime soon!

Thanks as always for dropping in on April’s #FalloutFriday! We’re really looking forward to all of the new releases in the coming weeks. Let us know your favourite on our Discord! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I must get to Nuka-World–time to hit the road for a Wasteland tour with Redeye.

Georgie (how do I tune a guitar again?) out.
