Hardwar to be unveiled at this year’s GAMA Expo

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

London, England: 20th February 2025

Modiphius Entertainment will be announcing the upcoming launch of Hardwar at this year’s GAMA Expo. Following the acquisition of Strato Minis Studio last June, Modiphius will be launching a retail-friendly Kickstarter for the Hardwar miniatures game this summer. Hardwar is a 6mm scale miniatures range and game set in the turn of the twenty-second century with fast-paced tactical rules and a hard sci-fi setting covering armour, mechs and aircraft.

In Hardwar, players take on a variety of roles from leading a private security company, commanding corporate forces, a revolutionary rabble, or a marshal protecting farmsteads. They will have access to a range of factions using pre-built units or can create rules for their favourite models with the simple construction system. The game has straightforward rules allowing a mix of classic armoured warfare, with mechs, spacecraft, exotic experimental weapons, cybernetics, sentient combat swarms and ECM.

Players can preview the game at AdeptiCon next month, with a Kickstarter coming this summer for the hardcover core rulebook, fully revised and updated and the first two of seven factions, the Syndicate Taskforce and Consortium Security Squadron, along with further expansions.

Originally developed by Strato Minis of Poland, with rules by Krzysztof Raczynski, Rafal Zerych and Robey Jenkins, Strato Minis Studio was acquired by Modiphius Entertainment in 2024, to completely re-launch the game to an international market in 2025. The Hardwar rulebook has been fully edited and re-laid out in a table-friendly digest-size format and will feature the Extended Hardware and No Heroes content previously only available in PDF. The starter sets have all been re-mastered to provide crisper details truer to the original sculpts and painted by Callum France and Rosie Williams, the painting team at Modiphius.

Chris Birch, co-founder at Modiphius, said: “With the huge love for mech combat in the community, I saw a great opportunity in Hardwar to tell a different story. One that lets you get more units on your gaming table for fast action battles. We’ve got exciting plans to explore this world and develop the storyline further.”
